In 1971, John Tung, a new immigrant from South Africa and a butcher by trade, bought COE Lumber. With four young children to feed, he and his wife Eileen forged ahead and built the business with hard work, dedication, and honesty. Today, COE Lumber is one of the few remaining independently owned and operated building suppliers within the City of Vancouver. The journey continues with two of their children, Mark Lau and Vanessa Lee-Son.

As a member of the Kitsilano neighbourhood for over 45 years, it's no surprise to hear that some of our customers first came into our store as infants or toddlers. Today, they are bringing their children to become part of the community at COE Lumber. While shopping in our store, many of our customers often bump into their neighbourhood friends, adding lively conversation and laughter to an already great atmosphere. We truly believe that honesty and exceptional service are paramount to giving good advice. The loyalty of our customers makes this belief words to live by.

With stores located at Arbutus Street, South Vancouver and Ladner, our materials and service have being supplying Vancouver’s contractors and homeowners for over 50 years. The warehouse on Shaughnessy St takes care of the deliveries and keeps the Arbutus store fully stocked for business. We carry products from lumber, plywood and screws to power tools and safety equipment.

Krypton Industries Limited was founded in the year 1990 to manufacture Polyurethane (PU) tyres for bicycles. Over the years the company has diversified its product range to cater to various industry segments keeping in view the market demand and requirements. Today it has established itself as the leading manufacturer of MCP Tubeless Puncture-Proof Tyres for Bicycles, Wheel Chair and Trolleys both in the national and international markets drawing from the active support of our valued customers and all members of the Krypton group.
